What can I do with a creative writing degree?
Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew what I could do with a fiction writing or creative writing degree? I'm going to receive a BA in the next week and I have applied to numerous advertising firms for both creative advertising and copywriting opportunities, but I have only heard back from two places. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
I need help with creative writing( i want to be an author)?
I need a good idea for a story based in present times, but using stuff like shields and swords armies and such... can anyone help me??
What are some good exercises for creative writing?
Writers do many types of quick write exercises before working on something big like a book. What are some good ones that you can think of? I prefer ideas for creative writing only.
Is there anyone out there who has a passion for reading and creative writing?
The downside is that you have terrible short attention span, but you don't want to give up on what you love, its just your attention span is really low and you just can't go on anymore with concentrating. Also you procrastinate half the time and you have to go through forcing yourself to stay on track and even that is hard. So tell me how do you manage to overcome it and keep on moving? You want to get started on reading your book you'll read it but there is only so far you can go. The same pertains to writing, where you do everything else instead of actually starting the story. Its not writers block far as creative writing, its just you can't focus and get easily distracted. What do you do if you're in this terrible situation?
Something easy to write for creative writing?
okay im in this class and i can write anything but a poem or article. i want something easy and short but i'd like to get an A which means it has to be really good I'm not looking for you to do my homeowrk assignment, im looking for forms of writing i can write, or, in other words, IDEAS. Please help and ideas on the prompt storyline would be wonderful thanks it doesnt have to be a story...it can be ANYTHING but a poem or article..like i said.. lol OH it also cant be realistic fiction which mean it didnt really happen, but it has a chance to be " real life" for those of you who didnt know
Any creative writing sites?
I've been looking around and I can't find a good creative writing site that's free. By free I mean not having to pay after a certain amount of time or having to create an account on the site and giving the site my email. I was wondering this because I like to do creative writing when I can but I can't find any free sites. Anybody know one?P.S. this is in the poetry section because I couldn't find the section that sort of goes with creative writing, but I guess that's what poetry is.

I can already write on a descent level, I just want to be able to improve my skills on describing characters and scenery, and stuff like that.I'm really trying to write a book, but I just can't seem to find the words to tell the reader what everything looks like, and even then so, when the describing sentences come in between the story to where it's not choppy. You know, like going between story and description.I hope I explained that well enough. 'P.SDid I put this in the right category?If not, please let me know.
Afraid of other creative writing students stealing my ideas?
I do creative writing at University, next semester we begin properly writing and then we're required to read out our work aloud to the group, about 40 other students. We have to write a piece a week or more but the thing is I dont want any of my classmates to steal my ideas...and some are the type who would. So I've like come up with this weird thing were if I keep all of my best ideas to myself to be left hidden until I finish university and try to publish them and instead I hand in lesser ideas so nobody will steal my good ones. I know some alot of the students steal others ideas as my friend read out he story were the main character was an elderly woman...the next class 4 people had stories in about elderly women lol its ridiculous but required to real aloud our work to the class and I dont see the point if people like that are going to take ideas from others and put their name on it. What should I do? and I dont want to limit my imagination either to save my ideas from being stolen, I feel like Im lessening myself which is stupidin answer to " Crone" ...I have many creative ideas and more and more come to me because I am a creative person, I paint and sell photography part time. The reason why I worry about them ideas being stolen is because they are mine? I have created them and yes, they are original and it is very possible to come up with original stories, you were unnecessarily negative and judgemental, nothing wrong with protecting my hard work

I am planning on writing a book for fun, but I just can't quite find the right topic that I'm looking for. Can anyone help me find a creative topic. Maybe something scary, or maybe something adventurous. Anything
Is this a good opening 2 a book I'm writing for creative writing class?
I'll I've ever know is darkness. It closes in, suffocates me. But it's all I've ever know. Makes me wonder if I miss the sounds of my beating heart or the steady rise and fall of my lungs. I'm not dead, no. I wish I were. Help ease the pain after a little while. The pain of the memories of light and of warmth. Of my mother's smiling face and her cool breath. Things I will probably never feel again. It hurts my brain as I try 2 remember. Count the freckles on her face, every blemish every beauty. But I can't. Not anymore. I know it's because of the darkness. Somehow it's doing this 2 me. I don't remember how I got here or why I only have one memory. One precious, unifying memory. not my best work. I know p I say book, because I think of a book as over 30 pages if I'm writing one. I need 40 because we're supposed To be writing it at home throughout the days we have that class.
Posting some creative writing?
I have written and am still writing a handful of chapters based on some funny ideas that my friends and I came up with back in high school. I was just giving it a shot out of the blue, but a couple buddies of mine really liked it and kept pestering me o write more of it. So I did and it's been pretty fun, but I figured I might as well put it somewhere where others can read it, too, maybe find out if I'm really a good writer or not.Are there any websites where writers can post their works, long or short? I've got about ten chapters or sections of stories that I can upload. You know how there's Deviantart for art and YouTube for videos so I figured there must be some good spot for random creative writings. Or is a blog the only good way? I don't really feel like doing a blog...
Websites for creative writing?
I am trying to find a writing website to keep my projects because I often like to write where I have not brought my laptop, like, you know, school. I use figment, but I don't like that you have to publish your stories to the entire internet, as I really like my current story, and don't want to share it, since I feel like I may one day pursue publishing it.. I feel uncomfortable keeping it on a flash drive as I am highly prone to misplacing things. Thanks
