Is an MFA in creative writing (fiction) worth it?
My goal is to be a novelist, is getting an MFA worth it? Does the feedback time spent on your work really make the two years and thousands of $ worth it? I want to be a writer, i'm just trying to find the best path i know this differs for many people .
What are some good exercises for creative writing?
Writers do many types of quick write exercises before working on something big like a book. What are some good ones that you can think of? I prefer ideas for creative writing only.
How important are grammatical rules in creative writing?
I don't mean the whole their, there, they're thing. That makes sense. But things that word always pulls you up on in writing, like fragments of sentences. I mean if you changed all of those things the story wouldn't flow very well.Or should I just find a better way to write those ideas?Just interested in opinions.

Something easy to write for creative writing?
okay im in this class and i can write anything but a poem or article. i want something easy and short but i'd like to get an A which means it has to be really good I'm not looking for you to do my homeowrk assignment, im looking for forms of writing i can write, or, in other words, IDEAS. Please help and ideas on the prompt storyline would be wonderful thanks it doesnt have to be a story...it can be ANYTHING but a poem or article..like i said.. lol OH it also cant be realistic fiction which mean it didnt really happen, but it has a chance to be " real life" for those of you who didnt know
What do you think of this idea for a [epic fantasy] short story for creative writing?
In the land of Orbis, a legend unlike no other lives within the hearts of its people. When the Orc King of Calbreth was sacrificed to a fire burning with the dark souls of the animals of seven deadly sins horse, dog, bear, goat, frog, pig, and a cow , from the ashes arose Prince Vitium. Prince Vitium dubbed himself the Lord of Darkness and within him dwell embodiments of the seven deadly sins. He throws them up in swathes of black blood and commands them like puppets on a string. He is basically the creator of the seven deadly sins. Under the rule of Prince Vitium, the Dark Realm began to grow. Shadows were no longer submissive to light and flooded the land. His puppets, the Seven Deadly Sins, began to infect innocent souls that had not known sin before. The Elf King of Aether, sensing that his kingdom would be overthrown by The Dark Lord, requested that a hero be created to defeat him. The Elf King bathed in a pool of holy water and the light souls of the same animals obtained not by killing them, but by fulfilling their lives and waiting for their souls to offer themselves. Out of the pool arose the Elf King, though he was reborn as Prince Azymus. Prince Azymus came to create the Seven Heavenly Virtues, though they were born from his tears rather than his stomach. Azymus soon becomes famous all across the light realm. It was discovered that his creations, the Seven heavenly Virtues, counterbalanced the evil that the Deadly Sins inflicted. From then on, he is nicknamed the Hero of Light . So far, this is all I have. The story will end with the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Heavenly Virtues clashing and dying in ironic and symbolic ways. Prince Azymus and Prince Vitium turn the world grey when they meet, and so the Creator of Orbis comes down from his godly throne and reclaims his children of light and dark. He tells them that humanity will be cursed with the burden of sins and virtues for eternity for the trouble they've caused. He smelts down their souls into light and dark and divides them equally across the land as they were, thought the virtues and sins embedded in the hearts of the people remain. "Origami Reality" (my piece of creative writing, please read?)?
He awaits at his desk struggling to fathom his own minds unnecessary complexities continuously perplexed trying to decipher the code of his existence but unable to re program his thoughts in order to alter his reality through his perceptions and so he sits idly wishing purpose could manifest itself and appear in his visual field forever restrained by imagined fear which binds his hands, so he is unable to picture the world and let the beauty of it develop it seems his own indecisiveness only flashes frustrations, and so he is incapable of giving birth to any moment of true insight these realisations have become long overdue and now age wraps his mind and melancholy blankets his soul it leaves him restless whenever the night draws in, as he just longs to erase the past and start on a blank page again but he is the artist and life is a sketch pad with rough pencil outlines he now proceeds to flick through memories outlining happiness and leaving despair in the shadingand thus creating a new outcome and branching an alternate reality from the tree of his own life at once regrets have been grasped and confronted, and he no longer feels the need to plant doubts of seed in his mind and smiles as he stumbles over motivation and dust forgotten dreams he thought demonic fiends had already bleeded out of his head He is a time traveler now, through his own memories and imaginationhe revisits pasts ghosts and silences their whispers before their words strangle his future self he now hears the call of positivity beckoning, and with this bends and folds his reality into a thousand paper cranes thus transforming his perception of reality into a beautiful sight, and with crossed fingers he wishes to continue to lay his ghosts to rest because anxiety can manifest a future that you fear, and you too can become that man with a blank face sitting idly at his desk so use you're minds eye as a Delorean, to let go of the past, and from then on seize the presentbecause reality can be shaped like origami, so construct you're own and attach whichever meaning you see fit, as it is all subjective you're mind perceives the world in whichever way you choose to think of it... Websites for creative writing?
I am trying to find a writing website to keep my projects because I often like to write where I have not brought my laptop, like, you know, school. I use figment, but I don't like that you have to publish your stories to the entire internet, as I really like my current story, and don't want to share it, since I feel like I may one day pursue publishing it.. I feel uncomfortable keeping it on a flash drive as I am highly prone to misplacing things. Thanks

So I'm under 15 and I've been wanting to enter a creative writing contest lately, not one for kids that only lets you type like 500 words. Maybe like a short story one? Is there a website I could go to? Thanks
Creative Writing Plot?
Can anyone give me a creative writing plot? I have it for my test and I just need something that will inspire me. It has to be something that happens in one day. You can say something interesting that has happened in your life. I just need a subject to write about, the test is all about characterisation, which I can do kind of easily but I can't think of a plot to support the main character.
Creative Writing project, Im freaking out...Please help!?
Hii, well im in creative writing & I LOVE this class and I usually never have any troublee But we started this project where we have to write a whole book Well, atleasst 7 chapters.. And Im doing a love story. Basically, its about this girl who never had love before and was pretty much hopeless until she met this guy she thought was perfect and she ended up being caught in an abusive relationship. I have everything but I just cannnnot start it worth a crap..Im never good with beginnings in my writings anyway but I want this one to be absolutely PERFECT. Please help me with some ideas for how to start pleeease I dont want it to start out with her meeting the guy though, I want the first chapter describing how pretty much hopeless she is and how it seems she will never find love...My teacher is very hard to please and she said if the book doesnt draw her attention she wont bother reading the rest. Please anyone help I dont care if you have an idea for the first sentence or how I can start describing her situation in an interesting way I just need as many ideas as possible because im freaaaaaking outttttt thank you so much to anyone that helps Wow, soooo many good answerss Thank you guys
